Halfdan Harring is an app and game developer from Aarhus, Denmark, who builds and ships his own products as a solo developer. Dolphin Beyond is his physics arcade game: a one-thumb, ocean-to-space swim built for iPhone and the web.

He works the same way on every project — designing for feel, shipping small and iterating in production. Dolphin Beyond is where that approach meets game-feel: haptics, momentum, timing and score.

How Dolphin Beyond was made

The game is built on a purpose-written, deterministic physics engine that runs headless for testing and produces identical results from identical input. That determinism is what makes verified scores, replays and fair leaderboards possible.

Halfdan Harring wrote the movement, tricks, tailslide and starslide systems, the Canvas2D renderer, and the deterministic art tooling himself, then packaged it for iPhone with Capacitor and Firebase.
